The Gatwick Diamond is a business led, joint venture by Surrey Economic Partnership and West Sussex Economic Partnership to facilitate and co-ordinate actions to promote strong economic growth in the area. It is supported by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), the South East Regional Assembly, the Government Office of the South East, local government and a number of locally based business and economic bodies in Surrey and West Sussex.
The six local authorities at the centre of efforts to align development and infrastructure to support the competitiveness of business are Crawley Borough Council, Horsham District Council, Mid Sussex District Council, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Mole Valley District Council and Tandridge District Council. They are supported in this actively by both Surrey County Council and West Sussex County Council.
Local businessman, David Butcher of FD Outsourcing Ltd has been Chairman of the initiative since its inception in 2003, believing that all of these partners working together with business will bring about more effective improvements. Bringing the area alive with its own identity whilst improving transport links and congestion, stimulating new investment in towns and identifying new employment sites together, will not only support economic growth but will also make sure it is a great location to live, work and do business.
If you would like to get more involved, please contact us on 01243 382255 or email info@gatwickdiamond.co.uk. The initiative welcomes approaches from business and support organisations that cover the same geographical area and would like to use the Gatwick Diamond logo.
